His 2025 summer favorites are:

G.D. Vajra, her wine “Kye,” which is a wine made from Fresia, an obscure grape from Piedmont that is used for blending. It has notes of dark plum, raspberry and wild herbs.

Elisabetta Foradori farms the region of Trentino-Alto Adige and grows many grapes one of which is Teroldego, a grape similar to syrah. It has notes of dark berries, chocolate and dried herbs.

Vigneti Massa: farms the area of Colli Tortonesi an area of Piedmont and specializes in grapes called Timorasso. He practices organic farming and is responsible for keeping this grape from going extinct in the 1980s. Tasting notes: minerality, honey and green tea.
